If water is leaking right now

Shut it off before you do anything else. Every house has a main shutoff, usually a valve where the line enters the house or a curb valve in a box near the street. For a single fixture, the small valves under the sink or behind the toilet turn clockwise to close. For a water heater, close the cold inlet valve on top and switch off the power or turn the gas control to pilot. Then call us.

What helps us quote quickly

• The address, or at least the neighborhood and city.
• What you are seeing: a drip, a puddle, a slow drain, no hot water, a noise.
• Where it is: which room, which fixture, inside or outside.
• How long it has been happening, and whether it is getting worse.
• For a water heater, the brand, its age if you know it, and gas or electric.

A photo or two of the problem, and of the label on a water heater, saves a lot of guessing.

What happens next

We confirm a time, look at the problem in person, and give you the price before any work starts. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you how long it will take and what you can safely use in the meantime.
